Two children to raise alone after becoming a widower seven years prior. Every day was an act of sheer will. Then, on January 13, 2025, the call came. A liver transplant was available. Scott didn't just survive. He came out the other side with a mission — to use his story to drive organ and tissue donation awareness across Canada.  He joined the Transplant Advocate Association and became a UHN Foundation Ambassador. Got featured in national media. Went to City Hall to push for April to be recognized as Organ Donor Month in Ontario. And joined a panel working to bring a life-saving organ preservation technology to Canada, one already standard practice in Spain and the UK. Scott is the first to say that. But that's the point. It's a fluid, living document. Everything new — new life, new liver, new student. I am living proof that anything can change.
